Recently the National U18 Cricket Pathways Championship was held in Launceston bringing together teams and officials from all over Australia. As part of their community program, Cricket Australia organised a number of volunteering opportunities for the players and officials on their day off.

The Launceston Benevolent Society was fortunate to receive the help of a number of officials in January who volunteered a few hours to help the Society in our warehouse. The Officials also arrived with a generous donation of groceries which was greatly appreciated.

It was a great day enjoyed by all and our Society is very thankful for the support and community spirit shown by the volunteers who attended. This initiative by Cricket Australia is an example of how sport can contribute to the community in many different ways.
