The Launceston Benevolent Society is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Rodney Spinks as its new CEO.

Mr Spinks has over 30 years’ experience in Senior Management, having previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Strategic Project Manager with St.LukesHealth. Rodney has also served the community as a Rotarian for many years with the Rotary Club of Tamar Sunrise and through other volunteering roles.

The Chairman of the Launceston Benevolent Society, Mr Don Jones, said: “It is clear that Rodney shares the core values of the Society and his extensive management experience will be invaluable to our organisation. We look forward to Rodney leading the organisation to an even stronger future.”

Mr Spinks said he was delighted to take on the challenge of continuing the important community work the Launceston Benevolent Society does. “I’m in admiration of the tireless work all the volunteers and staff do at the Society to help those in need and I see my role as supporting their efforts to help our clients and to ensuring the future vision of the Board is realised,” Mr Spinks said.

The Launceston Benevolent Society supports over 5,000 individuals and families each year. With no retail outlets, all donations of food, clothing and household goods from the general public go directly to those in need in our community free of charge. The Society provides emergency support and assistance for people in need in the form of food hampers, food vouchers, clothing, home goods, and financial budgeting advice.
