ABC Giving Tree


The ABC Giving Tree is an intitiate of the national broadcaster, now in its 27th year. Raising funds and encouraging the donation of new gifts, the proceeds of the ABC Giving Tree are distributed around Tasmania to nine different charities, of which the Society is one.

LBS BE Elephant Ball


The inaugural Launceston Benevolent Society Ben Elephant Ball took place on Friday 24 Octopber 2014 at the Country Club Resort, Launceton. With a full house in attendance at this black-tie event, funds raised for the Society topped $40,000.

Launceston Benevolent Society On the Move


Australia's oldest welfare agency, Launceston Benevolent Society (LBS), will be helping its clients through the festive season from a new address.

After 178 years at 4 Kingsway, LBS is moving to its new office at 5 Innocent Street, Kings Meadows. Bass MP Geoff Lyons will officially open the new LBS premises tomorrow (Tuesday, 18 December).
